In December 2014, at the very last minute Clean Power Properties lodged an appeal against Hampshire County Council’s decision to refuse permission for the proposed waste facility at Micheldever Station.

The appeal will first go to the Planning Inspectorate, which will make an assessment based on all the documentation of the initial application, plus all written objections, especially HCC’s reasons for refusal. This is a very complex matter and is almost certain to result in a public inquiry.

Micheldever Action Group expects that HCC will be represented by a barrister; MAG and other objectors will have a right to be heard, including the submission of further written input. Because the Inspectorate is under a heavy work load this could well drag on until after the General Election. As we learn more, an update will be posted on the website.

For background information on the application see the article: Micheldever Station Waste Plant Rejected.
